Il Consigliere federale Alain Berset all'USI per il 46. concorso nazionale della Fondazione Scienza e gioventù

Il concorso vedrà il confronto tra 77 giovani provenienti da tutta la Svizzera, che venerdì 4 maggio dalle 14.00 alle 17.00 esporranno nell'Aula magna del campus di Lugano i loro 62 progetti di ricerca. I giovani autori dei progetti provengono da scuole medie superiori e da istituti di formazione professionale di 15 cantoni diversi. Firmato un nuovo accordo di doppia laurea tra l'USI e il Politecnico di Milano

A partire dal prossimo anno accademico gli studenti del Master of Science in Informatics dell'USI e quelli della Laurea Magistrale in Ingegneria Informatica del Politecnico di Milano avranno un'interessante opportunità in più: quella di estendere il proprio curriculum di studio per ottenere una doppia laurea conferita da entrambi gli atenei. Al via il progetto europeo ABIRISK: l'IRB è tra i partner

Un numero crescente di farmaci si basa su molecole biologiche come le proteine e gli anticorpi monoclonali. Purtroppo a volte essi scatenano risposte nel sistema immunitario del paziente che ne diminuiscono l'efficacia o causano gravi effetti collaterali. Il progetto europeo ABIRISK contribuirà alla creazione di nuovi biofarmaci più sicuri ed efficaci. Inoltre fornirà gli strumenti in grado di determinare come i singoli pazienti risponderanno ai farmaci sia nei trial clinici, sia quando i medicinali saranno messi sul mercato. Per saperne di più.

Federal Councillor Alain Berset to visit USI for the 46th Science and Youth Foundation National Competition

The competition will be held on Friday, 4 May from 2pm to 5pm in the Aula Magna of Lugano Campus and will feature 62 research projects by 77 young participants hailing from all over Switzerland. The young researchers will come from Junior and High Schools and Trade Schools of 15 different Cantons. Double Degree Agreement signed between USI and the Politecnico di Milano

An interesting opportunity will present to USI students of the Master of Science in Informatics and Politecnico di Milano students of the Master in Informatics Engineering starting from the next academic year. They will be able to extend their curriculum and earn a double degree conferred by both Universities. More Information.

European Project ABIRISK kicked off: IRB is one of the Grantees

An increasing number of drugs are based on biological molecules such as proteins and monoclonal antibodies. Unfortunately sometimes they trigger a response from the patient's immune system which might decrease their effectiveness or cause severe side effects. The European Project ABIRISK will aid in the creation of safer, new and more effective biopharmaceuticals. Furthermore it will also generate tools to determine how individual patients are likely to respond to the drugs both in clinical trial and after their release to the market. More Information.

There is scientific evidence that body language reveals the intentions and feelings of people even when someone is not speaking or moving. The speaker Thomas Carta, USI gradute, will help understand with practical examples what words try to conceal. You will therefore acquire important basics that will come in handy in the workplace.
