L'USI ad EXPO 2015

Il prossimo sabato 26 settembre l’USI sarà presente all’Esposizione universale EXPO Milano 2015, all’interno del Padiglione svizzero. L’evento punta a dare un contributo alla riflessione proposta da EXPO (Nutrire il  pianeta, energia per la vita) e a favorire lo scambio di idee tra studenti, laureati e professori. Quali interventi per il rientro finanziario dei comuni ticinesi?

La gestione delle finanze pubbliche dei comuni ticinesi tra politiche del debito, risanamento finanziario e processi aggregativi. Sarà questo il tema al centro del seminario che si terrà mercoledì 25 marzo alle ore 14.00 presso l'Auditorio del campus di Lugano. Aperto a tutti gli interessati, il seminario nasce dalla collaborazione tra l’USI (Istituto di economia politica, Area di management pubblico e sanitario) e il Centro di formazione per gli enti locali.

Olio, cacao, mais e caffè

Si rinnova il ciclo di appuntamenti, che prevede 8 lezioni da marzo a novembre, dedicato alla Materia del vivere. Il ciclo è organizzato in collaborazione con il Settore Attività Giovanili e Lavoro del Dicastero Turismo ed Eventi della Città di Lugano e la Scuola Cantonale di Commercio di Bellinzona. Il primo appuntamento, intitolato Olio e tenuto dal prof. Corrado Bologna, avrà luogo lunedì 30 marzo alle ore 16.00 nell'aula A11 del campus di Lugano.

Eine zweite Natur: l'architettura fra città e campagna

Continuano gli incontri pubblici dal titolo Teatro della democrazia dello storico dell’arte, antichista, archeologo e filologo Salvatore Settis, titolare della seconda edizione della Cattedra Borromini dell'Accademia di architettura. La quarta conferenza del ciclo dedicato al paesaggio in Europa tra bellezza ambiente e diritti civili, avrà luogo giovedì 26 marzo alle ore 19.30 nell'Aula magna del campus di Mendrisio (Palazzo Canavée).

Il Parco della Maggia in mostra nei Progetti Diploma 2014

Nei fine settimana tra il 27 marzo e il 26 aprile, dalle 10.30 alle 16.00, la chiesa San Rocco di Losone ospiterà la mostra dedicata ai Progetti Diploma 2014 dell'Accademia di architettura. Le tavole e i modelli elaborati dagli studenti, sotto la guida del prof. Michele Arnaboldi, sono stati sviluppati considerando l'orografia del Parco della Maggia, luogo in cui il fiume è concepito come asse di riferimento per tutti i progetti. L'inaugurazione è prevista per venerdì 27 marzo alle ore 17.30.

Business Ideas, a fine mese il termine di invio delle candidature

Si terrà giovedì 16 aprile presso lo Stabile Piazzetta a Manno l'edizione 2015 di Business Ideas. L'evento, promosso da CTI Entrepreneurship e organizzato da USI, SUPSI e Centro promozione Start-up, offrirà agli studenti la possibilità di confrontarsi con imprenditori attivi sul territorio ed esporre la propria idea imprenditoriale attraverso degli elevator pitch. Le candidature potranno essere inviate compilando l'apposito questionario entro la fine del mese di marzo; a tutti i partecipanti è richiesta l'iscrizione sul sito del programma CTI Entrepreneurship.

Riconosciuto il merito di due studentesse dell'USI

Tra i vincintori delle borse di studio messe a concorso dalla Fondazione Zonta Club Lugano, per l'anno accademico 2014/2015, c'è anche Fulvia Oldrini, studentessa al terzo anno del Bachelor in scienze economiche. Il merito di un'altra studentessa dell'USI è stato premiato dalla IFITT, l'International Federation of Information Technology for Travel and Tourism: Alessia Borrè ha ricevuto l'IFITT Master Thesis Excellence Award per la sua tesi di Master in Gestione dei media.

USI at EXPO 2015

Next Saturday, September 26th, USI will be at the Universal Exhibition EXPO Milan 2015, in the Swiss pavilion. A day dedicated to the EXPO’ s main theme (Feeding the Planet, Energy of Life) that aims at encouraging the exchange of ideas among USI students, graduates and professors. Measures to recoup Ticino’s Municipalities Finances

The management of public finances of Ticino’s municipalities between debt policies, financial recovery and aggregation processes will be the leitmotiv of the seminar that will be held on Wednesday, March 25th at 2pm in the Auditorium of Lugano Campus. Open to those interested in the subject, the seminar is the result of a collaboration between USI (Institute of Economics, Area of Public Management) and the training centre for local authorities (CFEL).

Oil, Cocoa, Corn and Coffee

The lecture series of 8 encounters that will be held between March and November dedicated to The Matter of Living resumes. The series is organised in cooperation with the youth and work sector of the Dicastero Turismo ed Eventi of the City of Lugano and the cantonal trade school of Bellinzona. The first encounter Oil will be held by prof. Corrado Bologna on Monday, March 30th at 4pm in room A11 of Lugano Campus.

Eine zweite Natur: architecture between the city and the countryside

The series of public events named Theatre of Democracy continues. The public lectures, held by Savatore Settis, art historian, classical scholar, archaeologist, philologist and holder of the second Borromini Chair at the Academy of Architecture, are dedicated to the European landscape with its beauty, environment and civil rights. The fourth public lecture will take place on Thursday, March 26th at 7.30pm in the Aula Magna on the Mendrisio Campus (Canavée Building).

The Maggia Natural Reserve on Display in the Final Projects 2014

From March 27th to April 26th the San Rocco Church in Losone will host the Final Projects 2014 of the Academy of Architecture. The exhibition will be open every weekend from 10.30am to 4pm. The tables and models designed by the students coordinated by prof. Michele Arnaboldi, were conceived by taking into consideration the orography of the Maggia natural preserve with the river as the projects reference axis. The opening will be held on Friday, March 27th at 5.30pm.

Business Ideas, applications deadline by the end of the month

The 2015 Business Ideas will be held on Thursday, April 16th at the Stabile Piazzetta in Manno. The event promoted by the CTI Entrepreneurship and organized by USI, SUPSI and the Start-up promotion centre will offer students the chance to exchange ideas with local active entrepreneurs and present their projects in the form of an elevator pitch. All entries can be submitted by filling out the questionnaire by the end of March. Participants must register in the CTI Entrepreneurship web site.

Acknowledgment for two USI students

Fulvia Oldrini (third-year bachelor student in Economics) is one of the recipients of the scholarships offered by the Zonta Club Foundation Lugano for the academic year 2014/2015. Special merit goes also to Alessia Borrè awarded by the IFTT International Federation of Information Technology for Travel and Tourism with the Master Thesis Excellence Award for her Master thesis in Media Management.
