Il turismo culturale sotto la lente di confronTi

L'appuntamento di martedì 17 giugno, legato alle ricerche dell'O-Tur, si terrà nell'Auditorium BancaStato a Bellinzona a partire dalle 8.00. L'edizione 2014 di confronTi-turismo approfondisce tematiche legate al turismo culturale: saranno descritte le opportunità che tale comparto offre per lo sviluppo di una destinazione turistica, sottolineando alcune specificità della domanda e dell’offerta.

Danza minima

I 140 studenti del primo anno dell'Accademia di architettura animeranno la cava di Arzo muovendosi da, verso e attorno a un oggetto a superficie minima da loro progettato e costruito. La performance è stata ideata nell'ambito dell'Atelier orizzontale del prof. Riccardo Blumer, in collaborazione con il Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana: l'appuntamento è per mercoledì 28 maggio alle 21.15 presso la Cava Grande di Arzo.

Presentazione dei progetti del semestre primaverile 2014

L'evento si terrà mercoledì 28 maggio a partire dalle 14.00 nell'aula magna del campus di Lugano. Dopo l'introduzione del Decano Michele Lanza, diversi professori illustreranno cosa ferve nei cantieri dei loro corsi attraverso le presentazioni dei lavori di semestre da parte degli studenti. Il programma prevede la presentazioni Software Atelier 2 (M. Bronstein), Software Engineering Atelier (M. Lanza), Bachelor Projects (M. Jazayeri), HCI Design (M. Langheinrich e M. Landoni), Master Theses (C. Pautasso) e Artificial Intelligence Cup (L. Gambardella).

Programma per professionisti di una settimana in MedTech Entrepreneurship

Il programma per professionisti (executive program), che avrà luogo dal 2 al 6 giugno sul campus di Lugano, offre ai partecipanti un percorso completo lungo l’intero processo di creazione di un dispositivo medico o di un’azienda specializzata in sistemi diagnostici, dal concepimento dell’idea fino al finanziamento tramite capitali venture. Lezioni e seminari saranno tenuti da un team di livello internazionale di professionisti del settore industriale e finanziario e saranno completati da case study e discussioni approfondite.

Comunità e organizzazione del lavoro

La giornata di studio di venerdì 6 giugno (ore 9.00, aula C 3.89, Palazzo Canavée, campus di Mendrisio) analizzerà il tema della comunità e dell'organizzazione del lavoro in area alpina e prealpina tra Medioevo ed Età moderna. La giornata di studio si focalizzerà sul modo in cui l’ambiente alpino influenzava l’organizzazione del lavoro e sul modo in cui l’organizzazione del lavoro modificava e determinava la vita delle comunità in ambiente alpino rispetto a quelle di pianura.

Mercoledì scorso il Presidente della Repubblica italiana Giorgio Napolitano e il Presidente della Confederazione Didier Burkhalter hanno fatto visita all'USI per assistere alla lezione Il valore dell’intreccio culturale tra Svizzera e Italia tenuta a quattro mani dall’architetto Mario Botta (fondatore dell’Accademia di architettura dell’USI) e dal professor Carlo Ossola (direttore dell’Istituto di studi italiani dell’USI). L'associazione studentesca di riferimento per gli studenti Erasmus in Ticino alla ricerca di nuovi membri attivi

Martedì 27 maggio dalle 11.00 alle 14.00 l'associazione Erasmus Student Network (ESN) si presenterà con uno stand di fronte alla mensa del campus di Lugano. ESN propone gite, feste ed eventi che permettono di entrare in contatto con il mondo degli studenti Erasmus, offrendo nel contempo l'opportunità di conoscere diverse culture. Cultural Tourism under confronTi’s radar

The encounter organized in the framework of O-Tur researches, will be held on Tuesday, 17 June, in the Auditorium Banca Stato in Bellinzona from 8am. The 2014 confronTi-tourism delves into issues related to cultural tourism: opportunities of such sector for the development of a tourist destination will be illustrated, and some peculiarities concerning supply and demand will be underlined.

Minimalist Dance

The 140 freshmen of the Academy of Architecture will animate the quarry of Arzo by moving from, towards, and around an object of minimal surface, which they themselves designed and built. The performance was conceived within Professor Riccardo Blumer’s horizontal Atelier, in cooperation with the Conservatory of the Italian Speaking part of Switzerland. Scheduled for Wednesday, 28 May at 9.15pm the encounter will take place at the Cava Grande in Arzo.

2014 Spring Semester Projects Presentation

The encounter will be held on Wednesday, 28 May from 2pm in the Aula Magna of Lugano Campus. Advanced short program in MedTech Entrepreneurship at USI

The advanced program will be held from 2 to 6 June on Lugano Campus. This one-week comprehensive program takes the participant on a journey through the entire process of creating a medical device or diagnostic company from idea generation to venture financing. Lectures and seminars will be held by a world-class team of lecturers and instructors from industry and venture capital and will be complemented by case studies and extensive discussions.

Community and Work Organisation

The study day to be held on Friday, 6 June (from 9am in room C 3.89, Canavée Building, Mendrisio Campus) will tackle the issue of community and work organisation in the Alpine and pre-Alpine area between the Middle Ages and Modern Times. The seminar will focus on the impact of the Alpine environment on work organisation and how such organisation has changed and defined the life of alpine communities in respect to the ones of the valleys.

Napolitano and Burkhalter’s visit on Lugano Campus now online

The President of the Italian Republic, Giorgio Napolitano and the President of the Swiss Confederation, Didier Burkhalter, payed USI a visit last Wednesday to attend the lecture The Value of the Cultural Weave between Italy and Switzerland - held in tandem by Architect Mario Botta (founder of USI’s Academy of Architecture) and Professor Carlo Ossola (director of the USI’s Institute of Italian studies). The Student Association reference for Erasmus Students in Ticino is seeking for new Active Members

The Erasmus Student Network (ESN) will introduce itself on Tuesday, 27 May from 11am to 2pm with a stand in front of the Canteen on Lugano Campus.
